WHO SAID????

Who said that June could be over already? Who said that it could be time for me to send my niece off to girls' camp for 4 days, already?
Who said that I should still be waiting for my DH to come home from Utah?? Who said that monsoon season could be here already? (They have officially made it a season, now, here in AZ -- June 15 through September 15!)
Who said that it could be payday, but not enough pay at the end of the day? Who said that school could start in 6 weeks?
Who said that life could speed by, lightening fast . . . . NOT ME!

Professional Photography

ya, you're NOT gonna find that here, sorry!! That would be Jackie, her website is linked there to the right, see??

No, seriously . . . I got to pretend, for a little while on Saturday, that I WISH I were a professional photographer! It was for a birthday surprise (don't worry, the birthday is today, not ruining the surprise!!) and I got to have a "serious" photography job for this!

The kids were SUCH good sports! It was a banner 117 degree day on Saturday, but we went out in it anyway, to take some pictures. I wanted to take photos on the fountain, at the entrance to the parking lot at Centennial Hall in Mesa . . . nope, not there anymore! Bummer! So, Pioneer Park was the next choice. Thank goodness for shade trees! And the spray bottle that we brought with us to "mist" ourselves. . . LOL
We found out, as we viewed the photos later, how professional I'm NOT!! I took one photo of the girly in green, leaning against a tree. She was darling! The garbage can right behind her, however, was not! Learning as we go here . . .

I scream, you scream, we all scream for . . .

My friend, Tammy, had a link to this website www.blogthings.com/theicecreampersonalitytest, and I decided to find out about me! I love ice cream, so this seemed appropriate!

Your Ice Cream Personality:
You like to think of yourself as a fairly modest person. And it's true that you don't talk yourself up... but you're also pretty happy with who you are.You are the type of person who likes to throw caution to the wind. You only live once, so you're going to live as large as possible. You are definitely a wild one!You are a somewhat open minded person, but deep down you're fairly conservative. You don't like trying new things very much. And if you do find something new you like, you stick with it.You are a natural multitasker. You feel alive when you're doing more than one thing at a time. You can be a big dramatic and over the top sometimes. You are bold in every way!
I think that this is pretty close to who I am. What do YOU think? You KNOW you wanna take the survey, and find out about YOUR ice cream personality! ♥

Faithfully

Once upon a time, many many many years ago, I went to a concert with some of my good friends from high school. It was a Journey concert -- It was so cool!! And Bryan Adams opened for them . . . that made it doubly cool!!

Anyway, the other night, I was at my parent's house, hangin' out with the senior citizens, and I turned their DirecTV service to the XM radio channel. This song started - a beautiful song, mind you - and just hearing it I got goosebumps. I thought, "That's Journey!!! I would know Steve Perry's voice anywhere!"

So, I pushed the button, on the remote, that makes more information appear on the screen, and, I was right!! It was Journey! However, as the DJ informed me a minute or two later, the lead singer was NOT Steve Perry. (As I thought about it later, that would have taken one heck of a miracle, seeing how Steve and Journey parted ways in 1998, with never a word about joining together again!)

Apparently Neil Schon, one of the original band members, found the new lead singer, on YouTube, covering Journey songs! How crazy is that?? He was the lead singer of a Filipino band, and his voice is INCREDIBLE! He sounds so much like Steve, that I almost (I did say ALMOST!!) don't miss him.

But something about this album has me so excited, and listening to the sample tracks on line, I get all choked up, with the memories of Journey playing in my tape player, in my CD player, and now on my Ipod! They are timeless, and I am excited to get their new album . . . even without Steve! Besides, I can still support him, too! ♥

I'm a Princess!

I'm NOT a policeman, I'm a Princess!! I'M NOT A POLICEMAN, I'M A PRINCESS!! ***Independent and adventurous. You don't want much; just to break out of the guilded cage society has put you in and experience life to the fullest. Following orders isn't really one of your strong points, and you would rather live a life of poverty than being forced into something that you hate.

Those are the results to my responses on the "Which Princess Are You?" Quiz. (http://www.greatestjournal.com/quiz.bml?Q=16354)

I'm okay with that! I've always liked Jasmine and her spunkiness!! And her quick-thinking in distracting Jafar! She ROCKS!!

On another, less princess-y note, I will officially be a foster mom on Sunday, June 15! I'm so excited! My niece will be coming to live with us, and life with a teenager will begin!

I'm scared to death, but also hopeful, because she and I have already worked on our communication skills and we aren't doing too badly! Granted, it is different to live with someone, 24/7, but I am UP FOR THE CHALLENGE! I'm feeling a little like the roller coaster ride is about to begin!! :)
*** And, if you can "name that movie", I will send you a little surprise! If I get multiple correct answers, I'll do a drawing! ♥
