Slower, please!!

Is it just me, or is this year FLYING by???? We are more than 1/2 way through October, and from here it is a downhill avalanche!!
Thank goodness I have already started my Christmas projects for the kiddoes, and I have started a list of "what Jorge wants for Christmas".
As much as Kerry is mad about Christmas being displayed already, I am working on zoning in on the positive energy that is the Christmas spirit! I've already bought tickets to "The Forgotten Carols" -- It is my holiday tradition of 10+ years, to see this production at Christmas time! I always try to take someone who has never experienced it, and this year, I get to take my boss (who is a good friend) and Jorge, neither of which has seen it before!
I do, however, need to stop and enjoy the fall season for what it is! Pumpkin carving, Halloween candy, birthdays, costume contests and LOTS of photos!! Then, when December comes around, I can focus on Christmas!
Okay, for you Kerry, it's all about Halloween for the next nine days -- Okay???

Who does the laundry? Him.
Who does the dishes? We both do
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Him, if you're at the foot of the bed. Me as you lay in it

Who is more sensitive? He is just as sensitive as I am, although his rational man-side takes over more often!
Who has more friends? He has more -- dating back to grade school! He does a much better job of keeping track of people! And he knows no strangers!
Who wears the pants in the family? He wears the pants, but always asks me what color socks to wear with them . . . does that count? Actually, we do pretty well at talking things out and not "bossing" each other.

STOP! and breathe

The other night, a friend of ours asked me, "WHERE have you guys been?? We thought maybe you moved back to Utah, or something!" It had been almost a month since we had seen them, but it seemed that that month had zoomed right past us!!
It struck me then, that life can get so caught up in all the meaningless crap -- paying bills and doctors appointments and housekeeping -- that sometimes relationships suffer.
Then yesterday I was reading an article about being happy, and some ideas that help people be happy. One of them was "talk to a friend, socialize" and then another was "take time to laugh". For me, one doesn't happen without the other! I've got so many great friends and family that I call friends, that laughter is always involved in the socializing!
So, in spite of the second job, the doctors appointments, the physical therapy, the family drama, the dirty socks and the bills that have to be paid, I am resolving to do better!
I was on the phone with my cousin the other night, when I realized that she and I haven't had any quality time together for MORE than a year -- NOT ACCEPTABLE!!
And, I have been back in AZ, now, for more than 2 years! Dude, who said it was okay for time to fly by???? See what I mean - it can all get so overwhelming! So, I must get back to enjoying some part of every single day!
Any suggestions or reminders are welcome . . . just remember that you can win more friends with kindness, rather than sarcasm! :)
Oh, and I need to blog more!
